A cosy coastal retreat in the heart of Dorset’s Burton Bradstock

Lilac CottageLilac Cottage is a two bedroom, Grade II listed thatched holiday cottage set in the picturesque village of Burton Bradstock on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. Built over 350 years ago it is one of the oldest cottages in the village, originally one of four that housed the workers for Manor Farm. Updated in 2015 the cottage has been fully refurbished with a new bathroom, updated kitchen and contemporary furniture throughout, providing comfortable modern living without losing the cosy character of a traditional Dorset cottage. The perfect retreat for a seaside holiday.

The National Trust Hive Beach is just a short walk over fields, where you will find its famous cliffs and the award winning Hive Beach Cafe. This unspoilt beach is perfect for children, dog walkers, fossil hunters, coastal and wildlife enthusiasts.

Lilac Cottage is situated close to two historic pubs, The Anchor and the recently renovated Three Horseshoes. Both are well known for the quality of their food and ales. West Bay, the fishing harbour made famous by ITV’s Broadchurch, is just two miles away as is Bridport with its farmers market and weekly antiques market.

We had a wonderful weekend at Lilac Cottage. It is beautifully decorated, light and airy. The kitchen is plenty large enough for dining in (there were 4 of us), the lounge is lovely and cosy and the bedrooms just gorgeous. There is also a super walled garden to the rear with a lovely patio area for warm evenings. It is also a 1 minute walk to The Three Horseshoes, an amazing pub for wonderful gastro food and about a 10 minute walk to The Seaside Boarding House which has a super cocktail bar for sophisticated dining and pre/post dinner cocktails. Totally loved it and can't recommend it high enough - We will be back!!!!... See MoreSee Less
